Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP) extract energy from the atmosphere and transfer it to your heating and hot water systems via a heat exchanger. The process used to achive this transfer of energy works on the same principle as your domestic refrigerator, but in reverse. The energy extraction is extremely efficient and is measured using a coefficient of performance (CoP) value.

The efficiency of these products produces 3 to 4 units of power for every unit used to extract it, which results in a CoP of between 3 and 4. Some types of existing wall mounted radiators and most under-floor heating systems work effectively with this type of renewable energy boiler.
